Packing Up and Preserving Memorial Union History

The first phase of the Memorial Union Reinvestment is officially underway, and we have been feverishly working over the past few months to preserve and pack up the historic pieces in Memorial Union that make this place so unique.  We hired conservators to de-install and crate the Paul Bunyan murals to protect them from construction vibrations, de-installed and crated all of Der Stiftkseller murals that were executed on canvas (including the “Battle of Beer and Wine”), packed up all of the Der Stiftkseller beer steins to protect them from vibrations, moved dozens and dozens of historic furniture pieces that will return to the West Wing after renovations are completed, and more!  Needless to say, we’ve been busy here at Memorial Union.

To catch a glimpse of our work to pack up and protect the historic details of Memorial Union, watch our latest MUR video:  Packing and Preserving Memorial Union History
